A photograph is more than just
A gift to bring or send.
And more than just the likeness of
A relative or friend.
It is a kindly greeting and
A memory to hold.
Of happy times and pleasant things.
However new or old.
It is a mirror that reflects
Companionship and cheer.

That turns into a tear.

So this is my favorite poem because of its precise definition of a photograph. A photograph definitely serves more than the purpose of just showing someone or sending it to someone. It holds certain past memories within the picture itself. Some of these memories might make us tear, while other memories make us smile and reminisce about the past. The meaning and purpose of a photograph is unlimited. This poem certainly brings out the many different meanings of a photo.
I agree that this poem does illustrate how much a poem can express without even saying any words. You are able to look at it and immediately think back to that moment and all the fun memories that come with it. It's crazy how one simple photo can mean so much to a person.

I agree with Collin! The rhyme scheme definitely feels like it exudes joy. I particularly liked the line, "The smile that friendship shares." We can't help but smile when we look back at old photographs, and those are perhaps the moments when we consciously feel the love and joy that friendship brings.

I love how optimistic and uplifting this poem is on its view towards photographs. I picture is genuinely worth a thousand words and it is more convenient to portray it visually than through a long block of text. This is why Instagram became such a hit.

Tis Poem really does bring out the many different meanings in a photo, which is pretty amazing because most people look at a phot and simply dont take in what is really infront of them.
